K9 Workouts opened in 1999 and is located at 8 Levanswell Rd Moorabbin, just off Chesterville Road near the car wash. Being Victoria’s largest daycare centre, its a massive 20,000 square foot, climate controlled, indoor play area for your K9 to enjoy supervised play. The knowledgeable, experienced and professional staff are always on hand assisting with the pleasurable interactions of all K9’s.

The Owner

Amanda Bell is the owner and manager of K9 Workouts. Originally a farm girl from WA, Amanda’s love of all animals has led her everywhere from outback stations to suburban back yards.
From working with horses to working with dogs, Amanda’s passion and commitment shows in her ability, success and love of our furry companion critters. She is always at the forefront of setting the highest standards concerning welfare, animal husbandry and training plus Amanda is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.

When you walk in the door you meet our reception team

Gemma Steele is our bookings manager, who does a great job at keeping the front reception running smoothly. The dogs bound in the door ready for Gemma to lead the way into their action packed day. She shares her home with her two staffys and her husband.

Claire Kendell joined K9 Workouts in 2007 and has worked her way up to team leader. She is very passionate about all animals and still finds it hard to believe that she is paid to work in a dog daycare centre! She has extensive knowledge of all of our dogs and is responsible for all of our daily activities. Claire shares her home with 3 dogs, 2 cats and a housemate.

Nick Rudd does a great job of cleaning and maintenance. Utilising Nicks superior skills at perfection, he ensures the building is cleaned and sanitised, well supplied and operating in good working order. Compared to Nicks previous job of cleaning up after elephants at the zoo, this job is a breeze! Nick shares his home with 3 cats and his girlfriend.

Katie Harvey finally secured her dream job at K9 Workouts, after many years’ experience bathing dogs and working in the kennel environment. Katie is often seen down at the local beaches and parks, as her role involves dog walking and taking out the days trusty K9’s who booked a trip out & about. Katie shares her home with 2 dogs and a cat.

Sally Richer loves her role with the K9 critters, and she is also our party co-ordinator. Dressing the playground in birthday balloons to Christmas decorations, Sally is often seen dancing and singing with all of the party guests! Sally shares her home with her dog and housemate.

Sue McNally joined K9 Workouts in 2001 and spends her time in the playgrounds, doing a great job seeing that all the dogs are getting the best of care and attention. Sue is also one of our K9 bus drivers. She is regularly greeted by very excited and wiggly bottoms! Sue lives with her dog, husband and two children.

Fiona Neil joined K9 Workouts in 2007 and is regularly seen powering around the parks and beaches. She ensures all the dogs are keeping pace and staying fit and healthy. When she takes the leash, her training skills guarantee that great manners are kept when the K9’s are out and about. Fiona lives with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a housemate.

Cheryl Callaghan has been with K9 Workouts from inception in 1999. Cheryl helps with the paperwork and ensures the K9’s accounts are all up to date. Her role is regularly supervised by our senior dogs who love to laze around on the plush office rugs and ensure things are running smoothly. Cheryl shares her home with her crazy loveable Boxer dog.


We are passionate about employing experienced people who love working with dogs and encourage persons to apply who have two or more of the following skills:

• Industry experience in dog training, doggie day care, vet/nursing, and/or boarding kennels.
• Have trained their own dog through an obedience club or school, to a high training standard
• Mature minded with good customer service skills
• Work well to a high standard both individually and in a team environment
• Have a manual license and good driver history
